The WNC Macon-Jackson Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #81 was chartered in 2002 with 29 members. Since inception, we have grown to 160 plus members. Lodge #81 has become very involved in supporting both local law enforcement officers and the communities we serve. Our budget depends primarily on paid membership dues from active or retired law enforcement officers. We also conduct fundraisers to support our community efforts. It should be noted that all monies raised stay in Macon and Jackson Counties.

Who is Eligible to Join the FOP?
Active
The Active Membership of Lodge #81 is composed of full-time sworn law enforcement officers within the State of North Carolina. Municipal, County, State, and Federal Officers are all eligible.
Affiliate
The Affiliate Membership is composed of part-time and/or law enforcement support personnel.
Retired
All retired officers are encouraged to apply for membership in the FOP. Member Officers who retire due to length of service or disability may retain their membership in the FOP with full benefits.
Associates
These members are non-law enforcement citizens of the community who support law enforcement and purposes of the FOP. These individuals receive the State Lodge magazine and newsletter, however, they are not granted the right to vote or hold office.
