MEETING
Thank you to our newly appointed District Court Judge
Monica Leslie for joining us at our April meeting.
Judge Leslie was officially seated on April 30th in
ceremony

at the Jackson County Courthouse. We wish Judge
Leslie the best in her current appointment and future.
LAW ENFORCEMENT MEMORIAL DAY
Our lodge will be hosting the 2004 Law Enforcement
Memorial Service on May 15th. The event is scheduled
to be held downtown Franklin at the Gazebo on Main Street.
This years event falls on a Saturday. John O'Connor
is our project chairperson. Please see our Law enforcement

INJURED ILLNESS OR RECOVERY REPORT |
| Brother Dwight Beaman is still
hospitalized in Asheville. Dwight is a Franklin
resident and a life member of Hammond Indiana lodge.
Brother Jim Wright paid a brief visit at Missions
rehab the last week in April and Dwight was in good
spirits hoping to return home soon. |
| Our lodge paid tribute to the family
of Walter Scott, a retired deputy from Broward
County, Fl Sheriff's Office. Walt passed away in
April. |

MAY MEETING
Our next meeting will be May 25th. We will have a light
meal at 7:00 PM and then proceed to the meeting room for
our program. Speaker to be announced. |

PROSPECTIVE
MEMBERS AND VISITORS WELCOMED
Lodge 81 always welcomes interested person to visit
during our monthly meetings. Out of state FOP
members are always welcomed. If you are a life
member or have an active membership in another lodge you
can request an associate status with our lodge without
putting your active status in jeopardy. Members cannot
hold duel active status in more that one lodge.
MR. BUSINESSMAN COMMITTEE FORMED TO INITIATE PROJECT
Our newest work project committee will be meeting to
work on the lodge support project. We will provide updates
on progress and ideas that are being formulated.
LODGE SUPPORTS TWO RAFFLE PROJECTS FOR 2004
Two project that are in the planning stages and will
kick-off within the next month are the Gateway Computer
Pentium 4 raffle and the 17 Caliber Rifle raffle.
Promotions and ticket sales are planned for the 4th of
July and the September Macon County Fair. Saturday
sales at various locations by volunteers will also help
with sales. Tickets will cost $1.00 each or a packet
of 6 tickets for $5.00. We realize that some members are
not in favor of these types of lodge projects but we ask
you to support our efforts to help make our lodge better
for the future. Drawings are planned for the last
day of the Macon County Fair in September.
FOP LICENSE PLATES
DMV form is available for any lodge member who wishes
to apply for an FOP license tag. The cost for the tag
would be $10.00 plus your normal fee. If you desire a
vanity tag if would be an additional charge also.
