Memorial Site
''It is not how these officers died that made them heroes, it is how they lived"
Each year during Law Enforcement Week, Lodge #81 has the lying of the wreath for the "Fallen Officers" that have given their lives in the line of duty. We are reminded how dedicated the men and women are to protecting the communities where they live when they loose their lives. For these men and women there is no other honorable way of being remembered by the brother and sisters that are left behind then the ceremony at Town Square.
With these men and women there are special partners that accompany them to work each shift. They do not complain about the pay, the hours worked or the conditions that they have to work in. These are the K-9 officers that are a vital importance to each agency. We recently had a loss in our ranks of the Franklin Police Department. K-9 - Lefty, partner to Officer Matt Pellicer passed away of unexpected complications. These animals are very loyal to their handlers and become a vital part of that Officers family and life. We want to express our sincere condolences to Officer Matt Pellicer for his loss and honor Lefty by being the first K-9 Officer honored on our website.
