SEPTEMBER 2007 NEWSLETTER

 

 

The September General Membership meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 25th at 7PM. The meeting will take place at the Holly Springs Church Fellowship Hall. The Auxiliary is preparing a Spaghetti & Meatball dinner. Also our raffle drawing will be held at the September meeting.

 

At the August meeting the Member Attendance Award was won by Brother Larry Miller. Brother Larry graciously donated his $50 award back to the Lodge. In keeping with his evenings LUCK Brother Larry also won the 50/50. September’s award will be $25. Remember you have to be present to collect the award.

 

Our membership as of 9/17/07 is 159 (128 Active- 6 Affiliate- 25 Associate)

 

NOTICE:  The 2008 dues notices were mailed on September 1st. Your 2008 dues MUST be paid by October 15th. This year the board has directed that any member not current by October 15th will be suspended from membership and will not be entitled for any membership benefits.

 

Congratulations to Brother Chadd Stone on his Promotion to Sergeant and to Brothers Dereck Jones & Greg Stahl on their promotion to Corporal with the Macon County Sheriff’s Office.

 

President Lee Whittaker is requesting that all members bring a bag of individually wrapped candy to the meeting on 9/25. This candy will be used for distribution at our booth during Halloween-in-the Park

 

Please mark your calendars—The Annual Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, December 1st at Mill Creek Country Club. The cost will be $20 per person. If you plan on attending, please make checks out to MILL CREEK and forward to the Lodge Secretary.

 

The Lodge web-site is being updated. Please visit our site fop81nc.org and let Brother Jim Lau (Jlau-ret@verizon.net) know what you think of the update. Jim would also like your feed back on any thing (items) that you might like added to the site. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE NEW STATE PUBLICATION WILL BE ATTACHED TO OUR WEB-SITE WEEKLY 

 

Our Raffle Chairman, Brother Graham Hancock, would like to remind everyone that in order to help make this year’s raffle a success please, return all raffle tickets before the General Membership meeting on the 25th, with or without money, as we need to account for all tickets.

  

The Auxiliary will meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month at Holly Springs Fellowship Hall. If any one is interested in joining the Auxiliary, please contact Natalie R Whitaker at NATALIE74@smnet.net

 

The Sheriff’s Office is looking for volunteers to man the front desk. If you have any interest in volunteering, please contact Brother Larry Miller @349-2264 or Sgt Eddie Green @349-2575.
