A big THANKS to the 23 Brothers, Sisters and Spouses who volunteered at the “Shop with a Cop” wrapping session on December 22nd. The cookies, drinks, photos with Santa and wrapping assistance helped make the program a great success.

The Annual Lodge Christmas Party was held at Mill Creek on Friday, December 1st and all that attended had a very enjoyable evening.

All 2007 membership cards were mailed the first week of January. If you did not receive yours please e-mail me at J7696F@verizon.net or call me at 349-0698.

Please make every effort to attend the January General Membership meeting and show your support, as we kick off our 5th year. The State President, as well as other dignitaries will be in attendance. Support your organization and let your voice be heard. The meal for this meeting will be Jambalaya, prepared by Marla D’Ascoli.

The FOP web-site WWW.FOP.NET is up and running. Please take the time to visit this new site.

Please take time to visit our Lodge web-site FOP81NC.ORG as we would like to utilize it more as an informational vehicle.

The Ways and Means Committee and Brother Joe Hall had launched this years Business Associate Membership Drive. The program this year will be centered on personal contact with the local business owners by our Lodge members. Joe is looking for help to accomplish this year’s goal. Please offer any assistance you can by calling Joe at 349-3477 or e-mail him at JHall0700@aol.com

At each General Membership Meeting you are asked to support the 50/50 program. Please remember this effort goes a long way to subsidize the evening meal.

Brother Ernie Holt and I had a chance to preview the Lodge banner. This banner will be unveiled at the March Meeting and I think each and every member will be very pleased with the outcome.

THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH: “We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors but they all have to live in the same box.”

 Fraternally,

 John O’Connor, Secretary
