SEPTEMBER 2005 NEWSLETTER
This month’s meeting will be held on
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER, 27th at 7 PM. The meeting will be at the Holly Springs
Baptist Church Friendship Hall. Our scheduled speaker this month will be Chris
Brouwer, from Edward Jones. I am sure he will provide us with some year end tax
saving tips.
As of 9/12/05 our membership stands
at 151 (118 active--7 affiliate--26 associate)
NOTICE Your 2006 dues need to be in your secretary’s hands no
later than October 15th.
The 2006 dues are still only $50 and
can be mailed to me at
28744-0012 or dropped off at our general membership
meeting on Sept 27th.
The State Office has now relocated
to: NC FOP-.
At the August membership meeting it
was announced that the board had created a “Member of the month” award. The first award was presented to Joe Loewy. Joe has done an
outstanding job in producing our name badges and manning the sign-in table at
each meeting. Congratulations Joe!
The next major fund raising and
Lodge exposure event will be the booth at the Macon County Fair on Sept 14-18. Brother
Bill Driggers will coordinate this event. If you can spare a few
hours during this time, PLEASE contact Bill Driggers (369-5480)
This years Fund Raiser Raffle is
well under way. I had enclosed 5 books of chances ($1 each chance-6 for $5)
with July’s newsletter. Your support in this effort will help our Lodge
continue to be a viable/visible organization In our
community. Please return the completed stubs and money to me at a membership
meeting or mail to ma at
Jim Dautel, Nominating Committee
chairman, would like to remind everyone that elections will be held at the
November membership meeting and that 3 positions on the board are open for
nominations. They are 1st Vice President, Treasurer and Lodge Trustee. If you
are interested in any of these positions please notify
Jim Dautel in writing. To date the following have submitted their names: (1st
VP) Jim Lau & Lee Whittaker, (Treasurer) Marcia Egan & (Trustee)
Richard Hall, Andy DeLuna, Jim Wright & Gene Hultgreen
Christmas Party is scheduled for Friday,
December 9th at the Boiler Room. This year the dinner will be $16/person. Money
needs to be in to the Secretary by October 9th.
