Our next Members hip meeting will be on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 26th 2004 at HOLLY SPRINGS BAPTIST CHURCH FRIENDSHIP HALL (old building). The meeting will start at 7 PM.
Our speakers this month will be the three candidates for the School Board. The candidates will be limited to 5 minutes each. Please remember that Lodge 81 does not endorse any one candidate. All three candidates will have equal time. The results of the membership survey have been compiled, and are enclosed with this newsletter. On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank all the respondents for their responses and let you know hat your input is valued and appreciated. Our Business Associate Membership drive will be launched in the early part of January 2005. Any member willing to help In this endeavor, PLEASE call me at 524-4311. We will need help stuffing envelopes, attaching labels, sorting mailings, and some personal business visitation. The nominating committee has come up with a slate of officers to serve in 2005. The election will be held at our November meeting. Please plan to attend our meetings and support your elected officers. The Lodge will have an entry in this years Franklin Christmas Parade on Sunday, November 28th at 3PM. Our State President has agreed to bring and drive the State FOP marked car In the parade. Please come out and support this event. The Lodge Christmas Party will be held at the BOILER ROOM on Friday, December 14th. The party notice was enclosed with the mailed version of the newsletter. Your response MUST be in to me NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 26. PLEASE - - - - I need to know if you change your address etc. This month we will submit to the State 4 changes. We were notified of these changes by the National Office.

The winning ticket for the Rifle was drawn at our September meeting by our guest speaker, Captain Tim Fish ( MCSO).
The winner was Vickie Tallent from Franklin. The Rifle was presented to her on Tuesday, October 12th at Bennett’s Gun Exchange. The presentation picture, with our own LEE WHITTAKER presenting, will be in the Franklin Press some time soon. The winning ticket number was 911 (WOW). Six (6) people have applied for membership- 1.David Tippett, Highlands PD 2.Thomas Barber, Retired Osceola SO (FL) 3.TIm Fish, MCSO 4.Graham Hancock, Retired NYPD 5.Ronald Park, Retired US Army MP & 6.Scott Nelson, MCSO. This will bring our membership to 84. All FOP merchandise can be ordered through our Quartermaster, Jim Harrison (349-1489) On behalf of members of Lodge 81, we would like to offer a JOB WELL DONE to all the members of the Macon County Sheriff’s Office, the Franklin PD, our Emergency Service brothers and sisters, and all oth er agencies Involved In providing aid, assistance, and comfort to the victims of Hurricane Ivan- ------WELL DONE!!!!!!! |
